Game Concept

The game is about a young Witcher named Yaren, who is sent on a quest to find a legendary sword called Longclaw. Using his special Witcher ability of sense, he ventures out, encountering enemies along the way. This family heirloom was given to him by his father before he had passed away, he was promised to be one of the most powerful Witcher’s once he fully knew how to wield Longclaw. His father’s enemies had known of this and planned on stealing the sword and had succeeded in their attempt. Therefore, the boy must go and reclaim what is rightfully his. 

Project Purpose

This game was developed for the module, Game Engine Architecture. For the assignment, I had to create a game using Unreal Engine that incorporated water and an outside level. Within this game I created waterfalls and a pond. For the waterfall I used a spline which helped to curve the waterfall and make it look more realistic. For the pond, I had to program using blueprints to make a material and applied it to a mesh. I also worked with emitters for the key to the cave entrance and particle effects for the cave entrance. This program really allowed me to understand the fundamentals of Unreal Engine and programming using blueprints.
