Game Concept

2D top down game about a ship that needs repair. The company called Vega had created a robot that aided in repairing malfunctions within the Star Ship Vega. The player takes control of the the robot and has to find parts to repair the ship. Along the way the player will have to avoid electric obstacles.

Project Purpose

This game was developed for the Westminster Game Jam 2018. This was my very first game jam and I was just getting the hang of how to use Unity. For this game jam the theme was repair, so my team and I came up with this idea of a robot having to repair a malfunctioning ship. We all were on board and got straight into design and development. We had 48 hours to complete the game and submit it. 

Responsibilities

My responsibilities were movement of the main character, collisions with the walls, picking up objects and respawning the main character once they lose. I took the role of lead programmer and team leader for the group and by doing so, I was able to really push myself to get tasks done before the deadline, ultimately improving my time management, and also this experience allowed me to become a better game programmer, improving my C# skills so I could develop better games in the future.
